It Will Make Me Sad – Ogogo’s Message To Daughter Before Death Emerges

Veteran Yoruba actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, had urged his daughter, Kira Taiwo, to remain strong and trust in Allah before his death.

Kira shared the emotional message on her Instagram Story on Monday, following the death of the 66-year-old actor on Sunday.

In the conversation dated July 26, Ogogo told his daughter that seeing her and her sisters happy gave him strength. He also asked her not to cry because it would make him sad.

He wrote: “How are you? I heard you are crying. Seeing you and your sisters smile is making me strong. If you cry, it will make me sad, and I will start to think.”

The veteran actor went on to encourage Kira to remain strong, assuring her that he was also strong and expressing his faith that nothing would happen to him.

“Be strong. I am strong. Nothing is going to happen to me, insha Allah. If you do, then don’t cry, my princess,” he added.

Kira responded by assuring her father that she was not crying and that she trusted in Allah.

“Daddy, I’m not crying oo… don’t mind Haleemah. I trust in Allah, sir. I love you very much,” she replied.

Ogogo responded: “Love u too, my princess.”

The emotional exchange took place weeks before the actor’s family publicly revealed that he was battling stage-four cancer and appealed for financial assistance for his treatment.

Ogogo died at about 3 p.m. on Sunday, according to a burial announcement shared by veteran actor Jide Kosoko.

The actor is scheduled to be buried in his hometown, Ilaro, Ogun State, on Monday, according to Islamic rites.

A lying-in-state ceremony is scheduled for 11 a.m. at the Pavilion in Ilaro, while the burial prayer will take place at 10 a.m. at the Asade Agunloye Pavilion Ground.
