LaLiga: ‘It’s Done, You’re Finished’ – Ex-Man United Star, Quinton Fortune Warns Flick Over Mourinho

Former Manchester United player Quinton Fortune has warned Barcelona manager Hansi Flick about the challenge José Mourinho could pose in the 2026–27 season.

Mourinho is preparing for his first season as Real Madrid manager after being appointed by the Spanish giants this summer.

Fortune discussed the upcoming El Clásico meetings between Barcelona and Real Madrid, highlighting Mourinho’s reputation for psychological tactics and mind games.

Speaking to Tribal Football, Fortune advised Flick to remain cautious and avoid allowing Mourinho to unsettle him during their rivalry.

He said, “Hansi Flick is a calm character, and I think he already knows what’s coming now that José Mourinho is back at Real Madrid. If he allows Mourinho to get into his head, then it’s done. It’s over. If Mourinho can find a way in, you’re finished.

“Flick is undoubtedly a skilled manager, but Mourinho is among the best when it comes to psychological warfare. He also possesses sufficient talent within his squad to challenge Barcelona effectively on the field.

“Mourinho will strive to divert attention away from his players while attempting to unsettle Barcelona, creating distractions and placing all the pressure on Flick and his team. This will be a significant test for them.”

Flick, a former Bayern Munich manager, has enjoyed considerable success since taking charge of Barcelona in the summer of 2024.

The German has particularly impressed in El Clásico, winning six of the seven meetings against Real Madrid across all competitions.

Mourinho will now be tasked with helping Real Madrid regain dominance in the rivalry after Barcelona won the LaLiga title in each of the past two seasons.

The Portuguese manager will look to use the quality of his squad to challenge Barcelona and restore Real Madrid’s control of the rivalry, something he achieved more than a decade ago.
