Messi Surpasses Ronaldo’s Record After Scoring For Inter Miami

Inter Miami captain Lionel Messi has surpassed one of Cristiano Ronaldo’s records after scoring in his team’s 2-2 draw against San Diego in Major League Soccer on Sunday.

Messi scored a direct free-kick in the 24th minute to help Inter Miami find the net during the encounter.

The goal was the Argentine’s 75th direct free-kick goal of his career.

It also took Messi’s career goal tally to 930, making him the fastest and youngest player in football history to reach the milestone, according to the report.

The record was previously held by Ronaldo, who reached 930 career goals at the age of 40 years and 58 days after 1,272 matches.

Messi achieved the feat at 39 years and 88 days, having played 1,176 matches.
