Nations League: Portugal Release Official Statement On Ronaldo’s Departure

The Portugal Football Federation has confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo has left the national team camp ahead of the country’s upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures.

However, the federation did not reveal the reason behind the 41-year-old forward’s departure from the squad.

In an official statement, the Portuguese Football Federation said: “Cristiano Ronaldo has left the national team camp.”

The statement added: “Our preparations for the next games continue with our 24 players with maximum focus on the results.”

Ronaldo’s departure comes after he was left on the bench for the entire duration of Portugal’s 2-1 victory over Norway in the Nations League on Sunday.

The Al-Nassr captain was reportedly seen leaving immediately after the final whistle without acknowledging the supporters. He has since returned to Madrid.
