NPFL: Rivers United Coach Finidi Happy With Draw Against Nasarawa United

Rivers United technical adviser Finidi George has expressed satisfaction with his team’s 1-1 draw against Nasarawa United in the NPFL.

Rivers United took the lead in the 68th minute after Harrison Ebah turned the ball into his own net, giving the Port Harcourt-based side an advantage.

However, Nasarawa United fought back and Musa Yakubu equalised six minutes from full-time to earn the hosts a share of the points.

Finidi admitted that the encounter was difficult but praised his players for securing a point from the game.

“Every game is difficult even when playing at home in this season, we have to find our way it to get the much needed point,” Finidi told Rivers United’s media.

He added, “I think my boys did well. Towards the end of the game they defended a little deep which resulted in an incident which we conceded from.”

“My only concern was the penalty was questionable but the referee said he saw it, we have to move on and think about the next match. We are happy with the point recorded in the game.”

Rivers United have now collected seven points from their opening three matches of the season as they continue their NPFL campaign.
