NPFL: Sporting Lagos Deserved More Than Draw With Ikorodu City – Buter
Sporting Lagos technical adviser, Jeffery Buter, said his team deserved more than the 0-0 draw against Ikorodu City in their NPFL derby.
The two Lagos clubs shared the points after a goalless encounter at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, on Wednesday.
Buter felt Sporting Lagos could have secured all three points, particularly because of the way the game developed. He also praised Ikorodu City for their physical approach during the encounter.
“In the first phase they (Ikorodu City) were aggressive as they committed numbers forward, and they exploited it, seen how they played against Rangers in their last game,” Buter said after the game.
He explained that Sporting Lagos adopted a different approach by using long balls to try to take advantage of the spaces behind the Ikorodu City defence.
“Today we played long balls, unusual, as we tried to exploit the spaces but kudos to them, they were rugged,” Buter said.
