Speaking ahead of the event, Prof. Ibrahim Mohammed, Chairman of the Organising Committee, said the awards were established to recognise leadership and initiatives that contribute to development at the grassroots while promoting accountability, innovation and results-oriented governance.
He noted that the initiative provides an opportunity to showcase development contributions, encourage the adoption of effective practices and inspire greater commitment to improving the lives of citizens across the region.
The award recipients will also be featured in the Compendium of Grassroots Development Impact-Makers in the North-East, a special publication designed to document the contributions of individuals and institutions advancing innovation, community development and sustainable growth across the region.
