Maduka Okoye has reflected on his  crucial penalty save during Udinese‘s away draw against Parma, following an important performance by the Nigerian goalkeeper.

Udinese had lost their previous six league matches before travelling to Parma, but managed to end the disappointing run with an encouraging display.

Kosta Runjaic’s side created the majority of the chances in the relegation battle and came close to securing all three points.

However, Udinese needed a decisive penalty save from Okoye, who was named Man of the Match, to return home with a share of the points.

The Nigeria international initially fumbled a corner, leading to Parma being awarded a penalty after the ball struck James Abankwah’s arm.

Okoye recovered from the earlier mistake by saving Adrian Bernabé’s penalty, preventing Parma from taking the lead and helping Udinese secure the draw.

Speaking after the match, Okoye expressed satisfaction with the result while stressing that the team had already turned its attention to the next fixture.

“We always want to win and we need points. Today we got one, and that’s fine. Now we’re immediately focusing on the next one.
