Start Begging on the Streets Instead of Using Relationships for Money – Emeka Ike

Published

on

Veteran Nollywood actor Emeka Ike has shared his views on relationships, saying love and marriage should not be blamed for the many failed unions seen today.

Speaking during an interview with BBC News Pidgin, the actor said the real problem begins when people enter relationships with the aim of making financial gains instead of building a genuine connection.

According to Emeka Ike, relationships lose their true meaning when one partner sees the other only as a source of money or personal benefit.

He stressed that love should be built on trust, honesty and commitment, adding that many relationship problems stem from hidden motives rather than marriage itself.

The actor also criticized the growing trend of some women choosing partners mainly because of the financial benefits they expect to receive.

“Love and marriage is not scam. But there are a few people that are hungry, that are using relationship as a meal ticket. That’s where it becomes a scam,” he said.

He added, “So plenty of girls are going into relationships because of what they want to get, wetin dey wan collect from the man. They should just go and be begging for money on the streets, not using relationship. Relationship is supposed to be sacred.”

Emeka Ike further advised women not to rely on marriage advice from people whose own relationships have failed.

“Good girls should not listen to those women whose marriages have scattered and they come online to give wrong marriage advice. People endure in relationship. People try to find out the problem of their spouse in relationship. People try to solve it. Don’t just be with them for financial gains,” he stated.

Burna Boy Responds to Critics Over Reported ₦9 Billion Bugatti Purchase

Published

on

Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy has responded to the backlash surrounding his reported purchase of a custom one-of-one Venuum Widebody Bugatti Chiron said to be worth ₦9 billion.

The singer faced criticism after news of the luxury car surfaced, with some people accusing him of spending excessively on luxury instead of investing in meaningful projects or supporting charitable causes. Others argued that importing such an expensive vehicle into Nigeria made little sense because of the country’s poor road network.

While performing at the Afronation concert in Portugal on Friday night, Burna Boy addressed the criticism during a freestyle performance.

He rapped:

“I buy Bugatti, dem ask which road I go drive am? No be today we dey do road like Julius Berger.”

The comment was his way of dismissing concerns about where he would drive the luxury car, suggesting that poor roads have long been a reality in Nigeria.

The latest controversy comes months after Burna Boy was linked to socialite Sophia Egbueje, who alleged that the singer promised to buy her a Lamborghini in exchange for intimacy but failed to do so.

Although Burna Boy never directly addressed the allegation, he appeared to mock the situation in his song No Do, where he referenced someone complaining about a Lamborghini.

Sophia Egbueje later announced that she had purchased the Lamborghini herself, bringing the highly publicized dispute to an end.

Adunni Ade Wins ₦30 Million Court Case Against Google Over False Dino Melaye Dating Story

Published

on

Nollywood actress Adunni Ade has revealed that she won a lawsuit against Google after false online reports linked her romantically to former Kogi senator Dino Melaye.

The actress announced the court victory on Instagram, sharing part of the judgment with the caption, “Adunni Ade Vs Google. Not every war requires a response. Some require a courtroom. Unto the next.”

According to the court document, Justice I.O. Harrison of the Lagos High Court awarded Adunni Ade ₦30 million in general damages on July 9, 2025.

The court also ordered Google to remove the offending publications from Google.com and YouTube.

Adunni Ade had filed the lawsuit against Google and Meta on July 11, 2024, seeking ₦100 million in damages over articles she described as false and defamatory.

The case centered on reports that linked her name and photograph to claims of a romantic relationship with Dino Melaye.

She argued that the publications were false, misleading and violated her constitutional right to privacy, causing her emotional and psychological distress.

Although she later withdrew the case against Meta in April 2025 after the company filed a preliminary objection, the court ruled against Google.

According to the judgment, the violation went beyond publishing the stories, as Google’s platforms associated Adunni Ade’s name and image with defamatory content.

The court ordered Google to immediately remove the publications and delete the actress’s name and photographs from the disputed articles.

“It is common knowledge that when a basic right is violated, there is no need for additional proof. The Court will accordingly give the Applicant N30,000,000.00 (thirty million naira) in general damages,” the judgment stated.

The legal victory comes just months after Adunni Ade secured another court judgment, in which the Lagos High Court awarded her ₦20 million in damages over a separate privacy violation involving a Nigerian news outlet and one of its writers.

Nigerian actress and reality TV star Caroline Danjuma has alleged that a woman she once defended publicly was secretly involved with her former partner during their relationship.

Speaking in an interview with Tayemesan, Caroline claimed she only discovered the alleged affair later, adding that it eventually contributed to the end of her relationship.

According to the actress, the woman maintained a friendly relationship with her, interacted with her on social media and appeared supportive while allegedly hiding the affair.

“Funny how I pretend I am stupid, but I know the girl I defended on national TV was sleeping with my man while I was with him. He’s now my ex. She was in clubs with her American friends, twerking on him,” she said.

Caroline further claimed she had always been aware of what was happening behind the scenes.

“I act like I don’t see it, but I see it all. Posting his cars and all. Now I know why your baby daddy didn’t choose you. You are dirt. You sleep with your friend’s man,” she alleged.

She also accused the woman of pretending to be supportive while secretly betraying her.

“You will pretend like you like us, but you sleep with your friend’s man. Yet you post pictures like you are good. Girl, you are dirt.”

The actress added, “She will like your page and show you fake love, checking up on you. Yeah, I am a lover, but I respect people’s relationships.”
