Transfer: Absolutely, he brings spirit – Marcel Desailly advises Chelsea on signing Osimhen

Former Chelsea star Marcel Desailly has urged his former club to sign Victor Osimhen from Galatasaray this summer.

The Nigerian striker has been linked with Chelsea and several other top European clubs during the current transfer window, with his goalscoring ability and physical strength making him an attractive option.

Desailly believes Osimhen would be an excellent addition to Chelsea and could bring a strong mentality and competitive spirit to the squad.

Speaking to SportsCasting, the former France international compared Osimhen with other attacking options and insisted that the Nigerian would be his preferred choice.

“Maybe Mateta isn’t experienced enough. But Osimhen, absolutely. He brings spirit and respect, strong respect from opponents and from his teammates,” Desailly said.

He acknowledged that Osimhen can sometimes be unpredictable but argued that Chelsea need a striker with personality and presence.

“He can be a bit unpredictable sometimes, but you need that kind of player who can justify his stature and his behaviour through performance, but also through a bit of controversy.

“He’s strong, and he can bring that spirit to Chelsea. Honestly, I would have brought in a proper number-nine type striker. There aren’t many out there who could help Chelsea in the long run,” he added.
