Transfer: Atletico Madrid give Alvarez deadline to decide on Arsenal move

Atletico Madrid have given Julian Alvarez until Sunday to decide whether he is willing to consider a move to Arsenal or remain at the Spanish club.

According to Sky Sports, Alvarez is weighing his options after Atletico repeatedly told him that he will not be allowed to join Barcelona.

The Argentina striker has yet to indicate that he is ready to seriously consider a move to the Premier League champions.

Sources close to the situation believe that the longer Alvarez takes to make a decision, the more likely he is to remain at Atletico Madrid.

Atletico manager Diego Simeone has confirmed that Alvarez will not feature against Sevilla this weekend after missing training for the past three days.

Club CEO Miguel Ángel Gil Marín admitted that the situation has left the striker confused and going through a difficult period.
