Transfer deadline: Chelsea, Barcelona confirm deals for Washington, Guille Fernandez
Chelsea and Barcelona have confirmed the departures of Deivid Washington and Guille Fernandez on transfer deadline day.
Chelsea announced on Tuesday that Brazilian forward Deivid Washington has completed a permanent transfer to French club RC Strasbourg.
Washington joined Chelsea from Santos in 2023 and made three first-team appearances for the Blues during his debut season. However, he was unable to establish himself as a regular member of the first-team squad.
Chelsea thanked the 20-year-old for his contribution during his time at Stamford Bridge, with the club stating, “We thank Deivid for his efforts throughout his time at Chelsea.”
Meanwhile, Barcelona have also confirmed that midfielder Guille Fernandez has joined LaLiga side RCD Mallorca.
Barcelona wished Fernandez well as he begins his “new chapter” and also thanked him for his dedication and professionalism throughout his time at the club.
