Transfer: ‘It’s Inevitable’ – Haaland Tipped To Leave Man City

Former Manchester City midfielder Gareth Barry has claimed that Erling Haaland will eventually leave the club in the future.

The Norwegian striker joined Manchester City in 2022 and is currently under contract with the Premier League champions until 2034.

Speaking to GOAL, Barry predicted that a transfer could become an attractive option for Haaland as he searches for a new challenge in his career.

He explained that the next two years will be important because Manchester City’s performances and success during that period could influence the striker’s decision about his future.

“It is inevitable that Erling Haaland will leave Man City one day. Although Haaland’s connection with City is significant, which will keep him there for the time being, he is not the type to rock the boat like many other players do.

“I believe that if City’s dominance diminishes and trophies become scarce, it will intensify the speculation. It is only natural to desire a new challenge, and I am confident that Haaland will feel the same way,” he said.

Haaland is regarded as one of the best strikers in world football. Since joining Manchester City, he has scored 162 goals in 200 appearances and helped the club win nine trophies.

The 26-year-old signed a new 10-year contract with City in 2024, but the departure of manager Pep Guardiola this summer has increased speculation about his future.

The striker has also been linked with European giants Real Madrid and Barcelona as he continues to establish himself among football’s elite players.
