Transfer: Man City Unwilling To Meet Chelsea’s Demand For Pedro Neto

Manchester City are reportedly unwilling to meet Chelsea’s asking price for winger Pedro Neto despite showing interest in the Portugal international.

The Cityzens have emerged as surprise contenders for Neto, joining Arsenal in the race for the Chelsea winger.

City’s interest in Neto is believed to be influenced by manager Enzo Maresca, who previously worked with the player during his time as Chelsea head coach.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Maresca wants to sign Neto as a possible replacement for Savinho, who is reportedly close to joining Tottenham Hotspur.

Chelsea would prefer to keep Neto but are not completely ruling out the possibility of selling the winger.

However, negotiations between Manchester City and Chelsea have reportedly stalled. Romano has revealed that there is a “significant gap” between City’s offer and Chelsea’s valuation of the player.

Chelsea are also not in a hurry to sell Neto because they believe he could play an important role under their new manager, Xabi Alonso.

The fact that Chelsea “does not intend to lower their demands” means a move for Neto to the Etihad Stadium is currently unlikely.

It remains uncertain whether Manchester City will improve their offer. If they decide not to meet Chelsea’s demands, Arsenal could have another opportunity to sign Neto as they continue looking for a left winger.
