Transfer: Xabi Alonso Reveals Chelsea Player That Might Leave This Week

Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has hinted that midfielder Enzo Fernandez could leave the club before the summer transfer window closes.

Fernandez has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester City throughout the summer, with the Premier League champions expected to make another attempt to sign him this week.

The Argentina international was booed by some Chelsea supporters after coming on as a substitute during their 3-2 victory over Fulham on Monday.

After the match, Alonso was asked about Fernandez’s future and admitted that anything could happen before the transfer window closes.

He said:

“In football, I am not surprised by anything. We will see this week.

“My wish is that we know what will happen in the future, but we will see this week.”

Manchester City are reportedly expected to make a fresh approach for Fernandez, with only a few days remaining before the transfer window closes.
