The Nigeria international had been sidelined for one month after sustaining an injury during another Istanbul derby against Istanbul Basaksehir.

Osimhen came on in the 77th minute, replacing Deniz Gul, as Galatasaray looked to strengthen their advantage in the match.

The 27-year-old made an immediate impact, setting up Mario Lemina for Galatasaray’s third goal deep into stoppage time.

Osimhen has enjoyed an impressive start to the season, recording six goals and three assists in five Turkish Super Lig appearances for the Yellow and Reds.

Following his return from injury, the striker is now expected to start Galatasaray’s UEFA Champions League clash against Barcelona next Tuesday.
