Turkey: Vincenzo Montella Won’t Play Osimhen If He Were Galatasaray’s Coach –Şener
Football commentator Ertem Şener has claimed that Turkey head coach Vincenzo Montella would not play Victor Osimhen if he were in charge of Galatasaray.
Şener made the claim while discussing Montella’s views about the Nigerian striker. “If Vincenzo Montella were Galatasaray’s coach, he wouldn’t play Osimhen,” he said, according to Galatasaray Gazetesi.
Montella previously commented on Osimhen in February, describing the 27-year-old as an “emotional leader” rather than a technical leader for Galatasaray.
Şener, however, believes Osimhen has a major influence on the team and is capable of changing the entire character of the side whenever he plays.
Osimhen is currently recovering from a right adductor muscle strain that has kept him out of action for several weeks.
The Nigeria international is expected to return for Galatasaray’s Süper Lig fixture against Kasımpaşa on October 9, depending on his fitness and recovery.

Osimhen’s last appearance for Galatasaray came on September 4, when he featured in their victory over İstanbul Başakşehir F.K. The club will hope his return gives them another attacking option as he continues his recovery.
