Fenerbahçe forward Vedat Muriqi has warned Victor Osimhen ahead of Monday’s Turkish Süper Lig derby against Galatasaray at Rams Park.

Muriqi insisted that the Nigerian striker should not expect an easy outing, expressing confidence that Fenerbahçe’s defence can contain him during the highly anticipated encounter.

Osimhen has maintained an unbeaten record against Fenerbahçe across five official matches since joining Galatasaray. In four league meetings, he has recorded two wins and two draws, scoring one goal.

The Super Eagles forward also played a key role in Galatasaray’s 2024–25 Türkiye Cup campaign, scoring twice in a 2-1 quarter-final victory over Fenerbahçe.

Despite acknowledging Osimhen’s quality, Muriqi said he trusted his teammates to work together and prevent the Nigerian from making a decisive impact.

“He’s a very strong and good player, but I trust my teammates,” Muriqi told beIN Sport, via Turk Inform.

He added: “I think our defensive line can neutralise Osimhen’s quickness and gain the upper hand.”
