UCL: What We Will Do To Osimhen – Barcelona Defender Pau Cubarsí

Barcelona defender Pau Cubarsí has revealed that his team will do everything possible to prevent Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen from causing problems when both sides meet in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday evening.

Galatasaray will host Barcelona in their match-day two encounter at Rams Park, where the Turkish side will hope to use home advantage against the Spanish giants.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Cubarsí acknowledged Osimhen’s attacking qualities and said Barcelona expected a difficult challenge from the Nigerian international.

“In my first match a few years ago, I played against Victor Osimhen. We expect to face an opponent who knows what he wants to do in attack,” the Spanish defender told reporters.

Cubarsí also recognised that Galatasaray could benefit from playing in front of their home supporters, with the atmosphere at Rams Park potentially making the contest more challenging for Barcelona.

“It will be clear that they are playing at home,” he said, before praising the Nigerian striker’s ability and reputation in world football.

“Osimhen is one of the best forwards in the world,” Cubarsí stated, highlighting the threat the former Napoli striker poses to opposing defences.

The Barcelona defender concluded by stressing his team’s determination to contain Osimhen throughout the encounter. “We will do our best to ensure he doesn’t cause us any trouble tomorrow night,” he said, as Barcelona prepare for a demanding Champions League test in Turkey.
