Portugal midfielder Vitinha has praised head coach Jorge Jesus following the team’s 4-2 victory over Denmark in the UEFA Nations League on Thursday.

Vitinha said Portugal’s performance showed clear progress under Jesus, particularly in the attacking aspect of their game. The midfielder credited the coach’s work for helping the players understand and implement his ideas.

The Paris Saint-Germain star said, “It’s all thanks to the manager’s work. The truth is, we played an excellent game, and there is no hiding that.”

Vitinha described the victory as Portugal’s best performance so far since Jesus took charge of the team. He said the players are continuing to improve as they become more familiar with the coach’s methods.

“It was the best performance we have had so far. We are growing, and the truth is, the more we work with the manager, the more we assimilate his ideas,” Vitinha added.

His comments came after Cristiano Ronaldo was absent from the match following his departure from Portugal’s national team camp. Ronaldo reportedly became frustrated over his limited playing time under Jesus before leaving the squad.

When asked about the situation surrounding Ronaldo, Vitinha did not directly address the controversy. Instead, he focused on praising his teammates and the tactical approach of Jesus.
