WAFCON 2026: Cameroon Defeat Morocco, Set Up Final Against Malawi

Cameroon and Malawi will contest the final of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) after both teams won their respective semi-final matches on Wednesday night.

In the first semi-final, Malawi continued their impressive run by defeating Algeria 3-1 to reach the final for the first time in their history.

Tabitha Chawinga scored twice, while her sister Temwa Chawinga also found the net as the Scorchers produced another outstanding performance to reach the final in their debut appearance at the tournament.

The second semi-final between Cameroon and hosts Morocco was much tighter, with neither side able to score during 120 minutes of action.

The match eventually went to a penalty shootout, where Cameroon prevailed 3-1 to book their place in the final.

The Indomitable Lionesses will now face Malawi in the WAFCON 2026 final, which is scheduled to take place on Sunday in Rabat.
