Why I dumped ADC — Daura

Lawal Musa Daura, a former African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for governor of Katsina State, has disclosed his reasons for leaving the party, citing injustice and a lack of solid leadership as the reasons he joined the Allied People’s Movement (APM).

The former Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS) refuted claims that he defected because he did not receive the ADC governorship ticket while providing justification for his choice.

He claimed to have quit the ADC a few months prior and clarified that his protracted quiet was not the result of fear but rather of efforts to properly plan his political future and realignment in order to avoid making another error.

He clarified that his motivation for entering politics was to help save Nigeria from economic hardships, bad leadership, and insecurity.

“I entered politics out of concern for the nation and its citizens, not to pursue personal goals. He declared, “I want to change people’s perception that lying, dishonesty, and deception are a part of politics.”

Daura urged Nigerians to support and vote for the APM in the general elections of 2027, calling it a winning party that is currently crisis-free.

Daura stated that he is prepared to help make Nigeria a great country whether or not he holds a political post, even tho he did not disclose the position he is running for when questioned.

He went on to say that he had entered politics with the intention of advancing the nation and that he would not turn back.
