Zambian Model Lisa Mutambo Dies Mysteriously After Night Out

A 25-year-old Zambian model and socialite, Lisa Mutambo, has died after reportedly falling unconscious and vomiting at her residence in Lusaka’s Kalundu area following a night out with friends.

The Zambia Police Service, through Chelstone Police Station, said the incident was reported at about 9:30am on Thursday, August 20, 2026.

According to police deputy spokesperson Chipo Kaitisha, Mutambo spent the evening of August 19 with two female friends at a hotel where she worked as an ambassador.

The three women reportedly left the hotel at about 10:30pm and continued their outing at another drinking spot in Lusaka.

Police said Mutambo’s boyfriend arrived between 2:30am and 3:00am and picked up the three women.

He reportedly dropped the two friends off in the Minestone/Casanova area before taking Mutambo to her residence in Kalundu.

Shortly after arriving home, Mutambo reportedly began vomiting and later became unconscious.

Her boyfriend contacted a friend, who assisted in taking her to Victoria Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The Zambia Police Service said it received a report of the sudden death involving Mutambo and subsequently processed the primary and secondary scenes.

Her body was initially deposited at FSG Mortuary before being transferred to the University Teaching Hospital Mortuary for a postmortem examination.

Police also said no physical injuries were observed on her body.

The clarification comes amid social media claims that Mutambo had allegedly been beaten to death by her boyfriend.

Authorities are expected to establish the cause of her death through the postmortem examination and ongoing investigation.
