2026 Ballon d’Or: One Of The Best Players Without Doubt – Fran Garcia Names Winner

Spain midfielder Fran Garcia has backed Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Fabian Ruiz to win the 2026 Ballon d’Or.

Garcia made his choice while speaking to the media after Spain’s victory over Czechia in the UEFA Nations League.

The Spain international praised Ruiz as one of the best players in the world, putting him ahead of Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal in the race for the prestigious individual award.

“For me, he is one of the best players in the world, yes, without a doubt. One of the best, yes,” Garcia said.

Garcia was then asked whether he believed Yamal should be crowned the next Ballon d’Or winner, but he maintained his support for his Spain teammate Ruiz.

“For me, I would choose Fabián Ruiz,” Garcia stated, making it clear that his preferred candidate is the PSG midfielder.

He also acknowledged that Ruiz may not attract as much attention as Yamal because of his playing style. “Even if he isn’t as eye-catching a player as Yamal,” Garcia added, while still insisting that Ruiz deserves his vote for the 2026 Ballon d’Or.
