Nations League: Man City Suffer Haaland Injury Blow
Manchester City are sweating over the fitness of Erling Haaland after the striker limped off during Norway’s UEFA Nations League clash with Portugal on Sunday.
Haaland requested to be substituted in the second half after appearing to suffer an injury. He was replaced by Jørgen Strand Larsen in the 67th minute.
The Manchester City striker had played every minute of Norway’s previous three matches during the international break before being forced off against Portugal.
Haaland had been in impressive form for his country, scoring twice in Norway’s 3-2 victory over Denmark before finding the net again in their 2-1 defeat to Portugal in the first meeting between the sides.
Manchester City will now await a medical update on the 26-year-old ahead of their Premier League fixture against Liverpool at Anfield on October 11.
Haaland has scored seven goals in seven appearances across all competitions for City so far this season, making his fitness an important concern for the Premier League champions.

City could also be without several other players for the trip to Anfield. Phil Foden is suspended following his red card, while there are doubts over Nico O’Reilly and Antoine Semenyo.
