NPFL: Buter Reveals Winning Formula Behind Sporting Lagos’ Victory At Plateau United

Sporting Lagos head coach Jeffrey Buter has credited his tactical adjustment for the team’s 3-2 away victory over Plateau United in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

The Tech Boys continued their impressive away form with a hard-fought win at the New Jos Stadium on Sunday, securing their third away victory in the league this season.

The result also extended Sporting Lagos’ unbeaten run to six consecutive league matches, highlighting their consistency in recent weeks.

Buter explained that switching the team’s pressing approach to a 4-5-1 formation helped restrict Plateau United’s attacking players and contributed to the comeback.

“We switched our press to a 4-5-1, which limited their wingers and fullbacks from having time and space,” the coach told reporters after the match.

He added, “I think we played a very good second half. We dominated the game, found the early equaliser and went on to finish the game.” Buter said the team’s improved second-half performance was crucial to securing all three points.
