EPL: Man Utd won’t be relegated to Championship – Paul Merson

Arsenal legend Paul Merson has dismissed the possibility of Manchester United being relegated from the Premier League to the Championship this season.

Manchester United are currently 17th in the Premier League table after playing nine matches. Their position leaves them dangerously close to the relegation zone.

The Red Devils have the same number of points as Crystal Palace, who occupy 18th place because of their inferior goal difference.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Merson expressed concern about United’s position ahead of their December fixture against Coventry City.

“Manchester United play Coventry on the 5th of December, and I would be shocked if they aren’t in the bottom three on the Premier League table by then,” he said.

However, the former Arsenal midfielder insisted that he does not expect the club to suffer relegation. “But I don’t see them getting relegated, absolutely not. I don’t know where everyone expects them to be,” Merson added.
