VDM Threatens To Stop Tyla’s Lagos Concert Over Xenophobia Concerns

Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has warned organisers of South African singer Tyla’s upcoming concert in Lagos to cancel the event.

In a video shared on his official Facebook page, VDM expressed anger over the reported xenophobic attacks on Nigerians living in South Africa, insisting that the concert should not go ahead.

According to him, Tyla should not be allowed to make money from Nigerians while some South Africans continue to show hostility toward them.

He said the planned concert would not take place and warned organisers against proceeding with the event.

“There will be no Tyla concert in Nigeria. It is not happening. This is a warning to the organisers and promoters bringing Tyla to Nigeria. That show is not happening,” he said.

VDM also referenced the legal battle involving Chidinma Adetshina in South Africa, arguing that it was inappropriate to host the singer’s concert while such issues remain unresolved.

He warned that if organisers ignore the call and continue with the event, he and others would show up at the venue to stop the concert.

His comments come after Tyla’s management announced her 2026 world tour, which includes a performance in Lagos on December 22.

The planned show has already sparked mixed reactions online, with some Nigerians calling for a boycott in response to ongoing concerns about the treatment of Nigerians in South Africa.
