Adamawa Islamic Teacher Remanded For Alleged Defilement Of Two Minors
A 38-year-old Islamic teacher, Sagir Sani, has been remanded by a Chief Magistrate’s Court in Yola, Adamawa State, over allegations of defiling two minors.
Sani, who teaches at an Islamic school in Numan Local Government Area, was accused of sexually assaulting two girls, aged eight and nine, on the school premises.

According to the police prosecutor, ASP Zakka Musa, the defendant allegedly lured the two girls behind the classrooms before committing the offences.
The matter was reported to the police by the mother of one of the victims at the Divisional Police Headquarters in Numan on August 7, 2026. She alleged that the incident occurred while the children were attending Quranic recitation classes.
Sani was arraigned before the Chief Magistrate’s Court I in Yola on charges bordering on indecent treatment, sexual assault and defilement.
The defendant pleaded not guilty after the First Information Report was read and interpreted to him.
Following his plea, the prosecuting officer requested an adjournment to allow the police to forward the case diary to the state Department of Public Prosecutions for legal advice.
The court granted the application and ordered that Sani be remanded pending further proceedings.
