EPL: Brighton boss gives update on Azeez
Brighton & Hove Albion head coach Fabian Hurzeler is hopeful that Nigeria international Femi Azeez will be fit to make his debut against Coventry City on Sunday.
Azeez joined Brighton from Championship side Millwall on transfer deadline day after the Seagulls agreed a €15 million deal for the former Reading player.
The 25-year-old’s arrival was seen as an important addition to Brighton’s squad, but his debut has been delayed after he picked up an injury.
Azeez is now working towards recovering in time for Brighton’s trip to Coventry, where Frank Lampard’s side will be the opposition.
Hurzeler confirmed that the Nigerian is currently dealing with a slight injury but remains hopeful he can return this weekend.
“Femi is obviously carrying a slight injury at the moment. We have to wait this weekend, and hopefully he will be available for the next game [Coventry],” Hurzeler said.
