EPL: Carragher Makes Fresh Title Prediction After Man City, Arsenal Wins

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has maintained his belief that Arsenal will win the Premier League title this season despite Manchester City moving three points clear at the top of the table.

Carragher shared his assessment while analysing the weekend’s Premier League fixtures on Monday Night Football.

Manchester City secured a narrow 3-2 victory over newly promoted Ipswich Town at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, holding on to claim all three points.

Arsenal, meanwhile, needed a late goal from substitute Noni Madueke to earn a 1-0 win against Nottingham Forest on Sunday and avoid dropping valuable points in the title race.

The results left City top of the league with 18 points, three ahead of Arsenal in second place. Despite the gap, Carragher continues to view Mikel Arteta’s side as the team to beat.

“I still see Arsenal as the team to stop. If they dropped more points on Sunday they could have been five behind Man City,” Carragher said.

He added, “We obviously don’t know what’s going to happen with City, we have to take it as it is right now.” Carragher noted that Arsenal would have been concerned about falling five points behind City after dropping points in quick succession, but their victory at Nottingham Forest eased that pressure.
