EPL: ‘He’d Be Top Scorer’ – Ahmet Çakar Makes Huge Claim On Osimhen
Former Turkish referee and football commentator Ahmet Çakar has claimed that Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen would finish as the Premier League’s top scorer if he played in England’s top flight.
Çakar believes the Nigerian international has the quality to play for any club in the world. He made the comments while discussing Osimhen’s performance against Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League in midweek.
Speaking on the Libero TV YouTube channel, Çakar praised the striker’s ability but suggested that his performance against Barcelona did not meet expectations.
“Osimhen, you know, he could play for any team in the world, he’d be the top scorer in the Premier League,” the former referee said.
However, Çakar questioned how Galatasaray used the 27-year-old during the Champions League encounter, particularly given that he had only recently recovered from injury.
“I didn’t see anything like that in this match [Galatasaray vs Barcelona]. I admit, he has just recovered from injury, but what kind of performance did the team give him that he should play like that?” he added.
Despite the criticism, Çakar’s remarks highlighted his belief in Osimhen’s goalscoring ability and his potential to succeed in one of Europe’s most competitive leagues.
