JUST IN: Adeleke wins re-election
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Ademola Adeleke, candidate of the Accord Party, winner of the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
INEC announced Adeleke as the winner on Sunday, August 16, after the completion of the collation of results from the state’s 30 local government areas.
Adeleke secured 511,067 votes, defeating his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who polled 444,815 votes.

Adeleke Wins 19 LGAs
According to the results announced by INEC, Adeleke won 19 of Osun State’s 30 local government areas, while Oyebamiji won 11.
The result places Adeleke on course for another term as governor of the state after winning the governorship election on the platform of the PDP in 2022. For the 2026 election, however, he contested under the Accord Party.
