Atletico Madrid legend Diego Godin has named Real Madrid midfielder Fede Valverde as the player he would sign for Atletico Madrid if given the opportunity.

Godin praised the Uruguay international for his versatility, saying Valverde is capable of playing in almost every position on the pitch.

“Which Real Madrid player would I sign for Atletico? Fede Valverde,” Godin told DAZN, via Madrid Universal.

“He can play all positions on the pitch, and is also a humble guy. He has a lot of Atleti DNA,” the former Atletico defender added.

Valverde joined Real Madrid from Uruguayan club Peñarol in 2016 and has since established himself as an important player for the Spanish giants.

The midfielder has also enjoyed major success with Real Madrid, winning both the LaLiga title and the UEFA Champions League during his time at the club.
