LaLiga: Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr Banned For Four Matches
Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior has reportedly received a four-match suspension following his red card during the club’s encounter with Villarreal.
The Brazilian international came on as a second-half substitute after Yan Diomande had given Los Blancos the lead. Vinicius believed he had scored Madrid’s second goal, but an incident involving Villarreal defender Nathan Saliba changed the course of the match.
Vinicius was accused of pulling Saliba’s hair during the incident, prompting referee Isidro Diaz de Mera to review the situation using the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) monitor.
Following the review, the referee showed Vinicius a red card, forcing the forward to leave the pitch and leaving Real Madrid without one of their key attacking players.
The reported four-match ban means Vinicius will miss several important fixtures as Madrid continue their LaLiga campaign.
One of the most significant matches affected is the upcoming clash against Barcelona, where his absence could be a major setback for the Spanish giants.
