“The suspected terrorists were reportedly trailed until they made a temporary halt in separate groups near a water body,” the report stated.
The military reportedly targeted a group of about 20 suspects during the air strike.
A post-strike assessment indicated that 16 suspected terrorists had been neutralised.
The reported operation forms part of military efforts to track suspected terrorist movements and conduct operations against them in Borno State.
