Osimhen: NFF Rejects Galatasaray’s Request
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has rejected Galatasaray’s request concerning Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen.
Galatasaray had reportedly asked the NFF to prevent Osimhen from featuring for Nigeria in their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
Nigeria are scheduled to face Madagascar on September 25 and Guinea-Bissau on September 29 in crucial qualifying matches.
According to SCORENigeria, the NFF rejected Galatasaray’s request, insisting that Osimhen is needed for the important fixtures against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau.
The development comes after Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle included Osimhen in his squad for the upcoming AFCON qualifiers.
Osimhen is currently recovering from a groin injury and has been ruled out of Galatasaray’s league clash against Trabzonspor on Saturday.
