Peter Okoye Finally Speaks On What Led To P-Square’s Breakup

Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, has finally opened up about the issues that led to the breakup of the famous music duo, P-Square.

In a video shared on his Instagram page, Peter said he decided to tell his side of the story after years of speculation and misinformation about what happened between him and his twin brother, Paul Okoye, also known as Rudeboy.

Sharing the video, Peter wrote:

“I’ve watched lies travel farther than the truth. Today, I’m finally giving the truth a voice.”

According to the singer, many people have continued to discuss the breakup without knowing the real facts.

He also challenged anyone, including his twin brother, to provide evidence that contradicts his account.

“I am going to speak my truth today. I challenge anybody, including my twin brother. Anybody can provide a video,” Peter said.

He added that he had previously apologised publicly on the same platform where the controversy first started.

“I hear a lot of people saying, ‘What exactly happened to this guy?’ because most of you don’t even know what happened to us. But today, I am going to say it,” he added.

The disagreement between Peter and Paul became public after years of disputes over their music career, finances, management and creative control.

Their elder brother, Jude Okoye, who managed P-Square for many years, was also reportedly involved in some of the disagreements.

The brothers officially split in 2017 after more than a decade of success as one of Africa’s biggest music groups.

Since then, Paul has continued his solo career as Rudeboy, while Peter performs as Mr P.
