Turkey: Two Top Players Galatasaray Want To Sign In January Transfer Window Revealed
Galatasaray’s reported transfer targets for the January window have been revealed, with Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga and Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk among the players the Turkish club wants to sign.
According to Turkish football analyst Zeki Uzundurukan, Galatasaray’s management plans to strengthen the squad in January to address weaknesses, particularly in defence.
Speaking on the Transfer TV YouTube channel, Uzundurukan said the club had not abandoned its pursuit of Camavinga and intended to make another approach to Real Madrid.
“Galatasaray hasn’t given up on Camavinga. They will make another inquiry in January. They want to complete this transfer,” he said.
Uzundurukan also identified Van Dijk as a player admired by Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek, adding that the Liverpool captain had become a major target following the club’s defensive problems.
“Van Dijk is a player that Dursun Özbek greatly admires and is insistent on signing. He has come back into the spotlight after Galatasaray’s defensive problems,” the analyst stated.
He added that discussions over the proposed moves would resume in January, with Galatasaray reportedly prepared to offer around €15 million per year in connection with the Van Dijk pursuit.
