UCL: Mbappe Breaks Messi’s Record As Real Madrid Beat Roma
Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe has reportedly become the youngest player to reach 100 appearances in the UEFA Champions League, surpassing Lionel Messi’s previous record.
The French international achieved the milestone at 27 years and 298 days, becoming the fifth French player to make 100 appearances in the competition.
Mbappe reached the landmark on Wednesday night when Real Madrid faced Roma at the Stadio Olimpico in the Italian capital.
He marked the occasion by scoring Madrid’s equaliser to make it 1-1, helping his side recover before eventually securing a dramatic 4-3 victory.
The record was previously held by Argentine superstar Lionel Messi, who reached 100 Champions League appearances on September 16, 2015, at the age of 28 years and 84 days.
Mbappe’s achievement highlights his remarkable experience in European football despite his relatively young age, having featured in the competition since his teenage years.
