Nigerian gospel singer Yinka Alaseyori appears to have reconciled with veteran gospel singer Tope Alabi after five years of public tension between them.

The development comes after Alaseyori celebrated Alabi’s birthday in a social media post on Tuesday evening, October 27, 2026.

The disagreement between the two gospel ministers began in June 2021 when Alabi publicly criticised Alaseyori’s hit song, “Oniduro Mi,” which translates to “My Guarantor.”

At the time, Alabi argued that describing God as a guarantor did not fully reflect His immense power, insisting that God was far greater than a mere guarantor.

Her comments sparked widespread reactions on social media, particularly among Christians, some of whom accused her of being jealous of Alaseyori’s success.

Following the controversy, the two singers reportedly stopped celebrating each other on social media. They were also no longer seen together publicly or interacting with each other’s posts.

However, Alaseyori’s recent birthday message to Alabi has raised hopes that the long-standing tension between them may have come to an end.

In her Instagram post, Alaseyori shared a picture of Alabi and wished her well as she marked another year.

She wrote, “Happy birthday Ma L/Evang @tope_alabi_ and congratulations on your new age.

“Sufficient grace, strength and mercy we pray for you, ma. Best of God this day and beyond ma.”

Although Alaseyori’s message suggests a positive development in their relationship, neither singer was quoted as making a formal announcement about their reconciliation.
