Yobe Hisbah Stops “Color Festival,” Warns Youth Against Violating Islamic Values

The Damaturu Command of the Yobe State Hisbah Board has stopped a planned “Color Festival” organized by some youths in Damaturu, the Yobe State capital.

The development was announced in a statement issued on Monday by the Media and Publicity Officer of the Hisbah Damaturu Command, Y.M. Abba.

According to the statement, the operation took place on Saturday, August 1, 2026, as part of the board’s efforts to promote moral discipline, protect Islamic values, and prevent activities considered to be against the teachings of Islam.

The command said:

“We will continue to monitor and take appropriate measures to ensure peace, moral discipline, and the preservation of religious values in the society.”

The Hisbah Board also warned individuals and groups against organizing or participating in events and celebrations that go against Islamic teachings.

It further stressed that anyone found organizing or supporting such activities would face legal action.

“The Hisbah Board will not relent in taking legal action against anyone found organizing or supporting such activities.”
