Carragher names best defensive team in world football

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has described Arsenal as the best defensive team in world football at the moment.

Carragher made the statement on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football following Arsenal’s 1-0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield during the weekend.

“This Arsenal team is not only the best defensive team in the Premier League, I think they are now the best defensive team in world football,” Carragher said.

Arsenal have recorded the best defensive statistics in the Premier League this season, conceding just five goals in their opening nine matches.

Mikel Arteta’s side currently lead the Premier League table after their victory over Liverpool, holding a three-point advantage over second-placed Manchester City.

The Gunners have also maintained a strong defensive record in the UEFA Champions League, where they have conceded only two goals so far.
