Declan Rice, Palmer, Rashford Replaced In England Squad To Face Spain, Czech Rep

Declan Rice, Marcus Rashford, Cole Palmer, Kobbie Mainoo and Tino Livramento have withdrawn from England’s squad ahead of their upcoming Nations League fixtures.

England manager Thomas Tuchel has called up James Garner and Morgan Gibbs-White as replacements for the players who will miss the international matches.

The Three Lions are scheduled to face Spain, the Czech Republic twice and Croatia during the extended international break.

Palmer had been included in England’s initial 27-man squad after missing out on Tuchel’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.

However, The Athletic reports that Palmer will miss all four fixtures after suffering a “small injury”. The Chelsea forward’s withdrawal adds to England’s growing list of absentees.

Manchester United duo Mainoo and Rashford have also pulled out amid concerns over their fitness. Arsenal midfielder Rice has likewise withdrawn despite playing the full 90 minutes in Saturday’s match against Brighton.

Livramento has also left the squad, meaning England will head into their Nations League fixtures without several important players. Garner and Gibbs-White will now provide additional options as Tuchel prepares his team for the upcoming games.
