Nollywood Actress Maureen Okpoko Opens Up About Four-Year Battle With Blindness

Veteran Nollywood actress Maureen Okpoko has revealed that she has been battling blindness for the past four years.

In a recent video, the actress appealed to bloggers, colleagues, friends, and members of the public for financial support to help her continue her medical treatment.

Okpoko also asked for prayers and words of encouragement as she continues her fight to regain her sight.

She said:

“I have been visually challenged for four years. Please, I am seeking your financial assistance for further medical intervention. Tunde Ednut, VDM, bloggers, colleagues and friends, please come to my aid.

“Your prayers, contributions and words of encouragement will be highly appreciated.”

Her appeal comes shortly after veteran actor and musician Harry B. Anyanwu also called on Nollywood stars and the general public to support her.

In a video circulating online, Anyanwu said he was with Okpoko in Enugu and appealed to members of the Nigerian film industry and well-meaning Nigerians to help her get the medical treatment she needs.

He described Okpoko as a valued colleague and urged people to support efforts to help her regain her sight.
