Turkey: Osimhen closes in on Galatasaray’s all-time foreign goalscoring record
Victor Osimhen is closing in on becoming Galatasaray’s all-time leading foreign goalscorer following his impressive scoring form for the Turkish Super Lig giants.
The Nigerian striker has scored 68 goals for the club, placing him third on Galatasaray’s all-time foreign goalscoring list.
Former Argentina international Mauro Icardi currently leads the ranking with 77 goals, while Romanian legend Gheorghe Hagi occupies second place with 72 goals.
Osimhen moved closer to the record after scoring twice in Galatasaray’s 2-1 derby victory over Fenerbahçe on Monday night.
The 27-year-old has made an impressive start to the current season, recording nine goals and three assists in nine appearances across all competitions for Okan Buruk’s team.
His consistent performances in front of goal have strengthened his position among the club’s leading foreign scorers and brought him closer to the two players above him.
